I initially created this website to only send to friends, family and anyone that I meet; so that they could see what the project was about and to provide regular updates. I have now received the trust and donations of so many people who I have never met. For that reason I have wrote this so you know who is handling your funds
My name is Syed Ahmed, I am a teacher from Greater Manchester and I am running the Quran for Hospitals Project.
I started this project on the 10th of January 2020, after my father had recovered from pneumonia. As you are not allowed visitors after specific hours at certain hospitals, I left my father my Quran Cube whilst he was in hospital to listen to Quran recitation as he did not have access to the internet on his mobile to listen to Quran through YouTube. From listening to the recitation of the Quran, he told me he did not feel alone and felt peaceful which made the rest of my family feel at peace too. This made me want to make this device available for other patients too who may be anxious in hospitals, particular the elder generation who cannot access the internet.
This is when I started fundraising to donate Quran Cubes to Oldham Hospital. When I started this project, I only aimed to provide the Royal Oldham Hospital (the hospital my Dad was in) and the hospital in the city I was studying in (Bradford Royal Infirmary) with Quran Cube speakers.
I had started a fundraiser on JustGiving to raise just £1500 so I can provide the two hospitals with Quran Cubes, I then decided that I wanted to reach out to more hospitals and patients so I created this website to share with family friends to update them on my project and reach out to hospitals to make it easy for them to request Quran speakers from me.
Since the pandemic began in March 2020, all hospitals have placed restrictions on visiting which do not allow patients to have visitors at any time. This means patients have not had anyone besides them to recite Quran or make dua with them which is the norm. However, many patients have found solace through listening to the recitations of the Quran through the Quran cubes that were donated. Due to this, the word spread quickly amongst the chaplaincy network across the country resulting in many hospitals requesting the Quran speakers through this website.
At first, I was raising £15 for the cost of 1 Quran cube speaker, although the price for a Quran Cube mini is £20, £15 is what I was paying Quran Cube at a wholesale price. But as the number of hospitals requesting these speakers reached 100+ , I have had to source Quran speakers from elsewhere to meet the demand. Alhamdulillah, by the will of Allah I have managed to order Quran speakers at a cheaper price and a larger quantity which has allowed me to meet the demand of Quran speakers in these hospitals.
A small donation of £10 now covers the cost of at least 1 Quran speaker, and contributes towards postage costs too (Alhamdulillah).
I ask Allah SWT to accept this work from us and allow us to continue this work for his sake only.
I hope I have made my intentions clear and I thank you all for placing your trust in me with your donations. May Allah SWT reward you all and protect you from any calamity.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Please also keep my father in your duas as he is currently not well. Jazakallahu khair.

A donation of £10 will cover the cost of at least 1 Quran Speaker. Please donate even if it is not the full cost of a Quran Speaker. May Allah accept your donations as Sadaqah Jaariyah.
